Egypt's Delivery-Fee Problem
If you sell from Cairo and ship via Bosta or Fetchr: - Cairo and Giza: 20–30 EGP - Alexandria and the Delta: 35–40 EGP - Upper Egypt and remote governorates: 50–70 EGP - Matrouh and Sinai: 80+ EGP
The average seller has one of three options, all wrong:
1. Flat 35 EGP across Egypt — loses money on every Aswan order, overcharges the Cairo buyer.
2. "Delivery to be confirmed later" — buyer cancels when they see the real price on WhatsApp.
3. Refuses orders outside Cairo — gives up a massive market.

Set the price you want for each.
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Open Settings
Open Settings from the dashboard. In the sidebar, click "Delivery".

2. Set the default fee
"Default delivery fee" applies to any governorate without a custom price. Example: 35 EGP.
3. Set the real fees for key governorates
Enter your actual courier costs:
| Governorate | Price (EGP) |
|---|---|
| Cairo | 25 |
| Giza | 25 |
| Alexandria | 35 |
| Dakahlia | 35 |
| Sharqia | 40 |
| Minya | 45 |
| Asyut | 50 |
| Sohag | 50 |
| Qena | 55 |
| Aswan | 60 |
| Matrouh | 70 |
| North Sinai | 80 |
4. Save
That's it. From now on, when a buyer shops and picks their governorate, the real fee shows on the checkout page.
What the Buyer Sees
On the checkout page there's a governorate dropdown. The moment they pick theirs, the fee appears under the product:
Product: 300 EGP Delivery: 50 EGP (Aswan) Total: 350 EGP
No surprises. No "we'll call you to confirm". The buyer knows everything before tapping "Place order".
Why This Unlocks Upper Egypt and Remote Governorates
1. Bigger addressable market
Upper Egypt = 25% of the population. Most sellers ignore that market. You capture it.
2. Buyer trust
Transparent fees up front = the buyer feels you're professional. Confused fees = most buyers cancel.
3. Margin protection
If you ship to Aswan charging a flat 35 EGP while the courier charges you 65 EGP, you lose 30 EGP per order. Ten orders a month = 300 EGP gone.
Pricing Tips
1. Run a test shipment before setting prices
Before configuring fees, ship one test package to each region. Take the real price + 5 EGP buffer. That's the correct fee.
2. Update rates twice a year
Couriers adjust pricing. Review your settings every 6 months.
3. Offer free shipping above a threshold
On sellX you can set "Free shipping over 500 EGP". It lifts average order value.
4. Run a Ramadan shipping promo
For Cairo only, for example, halve the delivery fee for the whole Ramadan month. Drives sales.
The Bottom Line
Every governorate priced correctly = more sales + protected margin + happier buyers.
This feature sits inside Settings and most sellers never find it — but it's the difference between millions in orders and losses on every remote shipment. Set it once and forget it.
